Every team at the Midwest Youth Cup is guaranteed a minimum of 3 games. No team plays more than 3 games in a single day, and the tournament runs March 19 to 21, 2027. Applicable divisions also play championship matches decided by group play standings.

The 3-game minimum
The minimum 3-game guarantee applies to every team in every age group, U8 through U15. Games are spread across March 19 to 21, and no team is scheduled for more than 3 games in one day, which keeps the workload manageable for young players over the weekend.
Group play scoring
Group play awards 3 points for a win, 1 point for a tie, and 0 points for a loss. A forfeit awards 3 points to the team that was ready to play and is recorded as a 2-0 score. Standings from group play determine advancement to championship matches.
Tiebreakers
When teams are level on points, the standings are broken in order: head-to-head result, then goals allowed, then goal differential capped at plus 4 per game, then goals scored capped at plus 4 per game, then penalty kicks. These decide seeding and advancement in applicable divisions.
Championships and knockout play
Applicable divisions play championship matches based on group standings. There is no overtime in group play. Knockout games use two 5-minute golden-goal overtime periods, and if the game is still tied, it goes to penalty kicks, best of five and then sudden death.
