Game Day Checklist for Coaches at the Midwest Youth Cup
What a coach brings and does on match day at the 2027 Midwest Youth Cup. Be ready 15 minutes before kickoff with passes, rosters, and matching kit.
Game Day Checklist for Coaches at the Midwest Youth Cup
Have your team ready 15 minutes before kickoff with player and coach passes available at the field. There is no on-site check-in at the Midwest Youth Cup, so once your GotSport documents are in by March 12, 2027 your match-day job is warm-up, kit, and passes.
Key facts
- Be ready 15 minutes prior to kickoff.
- Player and coach passes must be available at the field.
- All check-in is online through GotSport; no on-site check-in.
- Home team is listed first and wears light; away wears dark.
- No more than 3 games per day, minimum 3-game guarantee.
Before you leave the hotel
Pack your match-day folder with player passes, coach passes, and your GotSport schedule pulled up. Rosters are submitted online by the March 12, 2027 document deadline, and there are no roster changes after check-in, so the folder is a reference rather than a form to hand in. Bring both jersey sets in case of a color conflict.
What to carry to the field
Bring the items you need at the field itself.
| Item | Why it matters | |------|----------------| | Player passes | Must be available for every player | | Coach passes | Must be available for staff | | Matching numbered jerseys | Every player a different number; light and dark sets | | Correct ball size | Size 4 for U8 through U12; Size 5 for U13 through U15 | | Shin guards | Required for all players | | Warm-up balls and bibs | The tournament provides match balls; you provide warm-up gear |
The 15-minute readiness window
Teams must be ready 15 minutes prior to kickoff with passes available. Use that window to confirm your starting group, check studs and shin guards, and remove any jewelry. No metal cleats, no hard casts, and no tape over earrings are allowed, so catch those before you reach the field.
Kit and color
The home team is listed first on the schedule and wears light; the away team wears dark. The home team changes on a color conflict, which is why both matching jersey sets travel with you. Every player must wear a different number.
Bench, spectators, and conduct
Spectators sit opposite the team benches and no one stands behind the goals. Coaches are responsible for their team and their spectators. Keep the sideline clean of alcohol, smoking, and artificial noise devices, and keep conduct toward officials and opponents in check.
During and after the match
The referee is the official timekeeper and the clock runs. Substitutions are unlimited: on-the-fly for U8 through U12 and at standard restarts for U13 through U15. After the match, note the result, reset for your next game, and remember the cap of 3 games in a single day.
